One World One People:
Jewish Photographic Portraits by Arnold Newman

December 25, 2011 – March 30, 2012

At the Jewish Museum Milwaukee, 1360 North Prospect Avenue, ‘One World One People’, an exhibit  by renowned photographer Arnold Newman (1918-2006), is a culmination of portraits he made of significant individuals over the course of his illustrious career. 

The Europeans, which recently opened at CoPA Sponsor the Haggerty Museum of Art, provides an intimate look at wealthy Europeans at home through the eyes of American photographer Tina Barney.

Member photographer Ben Stuart will be CoPA's Featured Artist at the next ART Milwaukee ART Jamboree on Friday, March 9, 7 to 11 pm at Milwaukee's City Hall, 200 E. Wells Street.

a juried exhibition at the Minneapolis Photo Center, open through Feburary 26, 2012.

This exhibition features 70 images from The Museum Set, a rare portfolio of photographs hand-printed by the artist and considered by him to be the best of his life's work. On view now through January 8 at the Lake County Discovery Museum. 

The first Gallery Night and Day of 2012 arrives in Milwaukee on Friday, January 20 and Saturday, January 21. Photographs by CoPA members will be on view all over town, including work by Cindy Lesky, Linda Schwam Merkel, Bill Zuback and Jessica Zalewski Schafer.

Every Day is one of three exhibitions at Portrait Society Gallery that run through January 14, 2012.

CoPA to host annual Pin-Up Show and announce Artist Incentive Award Winners on October 22 from 6pm-9pm at the Marian Gallery at Mount Mary College. For the last five years CoPA has hosted a one night only “Pin-Up” Show, in which CoPA members donate photographs that are pinnedto a gallery wall and auctioned off at reasonable prices to Milwaukee art collectors and supporters of CoPA. 

This program awards two $500 Artist Incentive Awards each year – one to a student enrolled in a two or four year degree program and one to a CoPA member in good standing. Applications are evaluated primarily based on essays written on the subject,  “What contemporary photography means to you and how you see your photography fitting into your future plans as a Fine Art Photographer.” read full article here

Dattilio Studio is offering “The Soul of Vietnam and the North,” two identical amazing two week trips in Vietnam.  These are workshop/tours for people who love to explore a country and learn to take better photographs.  Session one is Nov. 3 – Nov. 16, 2011. Session two is Apr. 12 – Apr. 25, 2012.

Open to all photography artists who reside in Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota or Michigan, who may submit up to four images with a $35, non-refundable entry fee.  There is no entry fee for active/paid CoPA members, who may also submit up to four images. See story for a link to submit your entry.

On Saturday, October 1, from 5 to 7 p.m., CoPA Board Member Coree Coppinger will lead Milwaukee photographers in the 4th Annual Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk.
