Bob Israel Elected New CoPA President, Succeeds Robb Quinn

Bob Israel is CoPA’s new president, the third since the group formed in 2004. He succeeds Robb Quinn, who held the presidency for three terms since 2008. Also elected: Geri Laehn, vice president; Maggie Wright, secretary; and Mark Stall, treasurer.

The CoPA Board of Directors elected new officers for one-year terms at its monthly meeting May 31 at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music. Other officers elected are:

'Gestation'

Conceptual photographer Bill Zuback is more interested in creating abstract metaphors for everyday life experiences than photographing those same ideas through a social documentary style of image-making.

When CoPA member Bill Zuback photographs his ideas he wants viewers to come away feeling satisfied but intellectually curious.

A case in point is Gestation, a series he created after a friend sent him eight plastic vending-machine babies encased in clear plastic capsules. The image of these creatures enclosed in womblike-bubbles may not be something everyone immediately relates to, but everyone has gone through ontogeny before entering the world.
