Photographer Marcia Getto will exhibit her Wisconsin landscape, flower and bird images at the Horicon Marsh International Education Center from Saturday, April 28 through Friday, June 29, 2012.

CoPA member and former President, Bob Israel was recently awarded second place in the Minneapolis Photo Center juried exhibition, "Black & White: The Absence of Color."  The exhibition opened March 9th, and runs through April 22nd.

CoPA member and former President, Bob Israel was recently awarded second place in a Minneapolis Photo Center juried exhibition.  The call for entries for "Black & White: The Absence of Color" resulted in the submission of more than 2,000 images from around the world, 75 of which will be exhibited at the Minneapolis Photo Center.  The exhibition opened March 9th, and runs through April 22nd.

Historians of photography don't usually associate Edward Weston with Surrealism, but that post-World War I movement in the arts underlies many of Weston's works, where everyday objects are divorced from their normal environments, and seem to possess double identities and sexual power.

Dr. Bendiner holds a Ph.D from Columbia University and currently teaches in the Department of Art History at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. His full Curriculum Vitae can be found here:

Member photographer Martha Coaty will be CoPA's Featured Artist at the upcoming ART Milwaukee ART Jamboree on Saturday, May 19 at Milwaukee Athletic Club, 758 North Broadway. Coaty is an award winning fine art photographer currently living in Allouez, WI. Her photographs of houses and barns of Northern Wisconsin are geometrically precise, infused with a keen sense of stillness. She is a Wisconsin native and has practiced the art of photography for over thirty years.

CoPA is partnering with ART Milwaukee in 2012 to bring great photographs to the community at their ART Jamborees. With the help of other local organizations, these social experiences bring the work of featured artists to thousands each month at different locations throughout the city.

Stuart's captivating portraits of youth in traditional costumes our city's many ethnic festivals demonstrate Milwaukee's continuing commitment to honoring the heritage of those who built it.

Polly Morris, executive director of the Bradley Family Foundation and the Lynden Sculpture Garden, will speak at the Sept. 13 CoPA members’ meeting at Libiamo Restaurant, 221 W. Galena St., Milwaukee.

Polly Morris, executive director of the Bradley Family Foundation and the Lynden Sculpture Garden, will speak at the Sept. 13 CoPA members’ meeting at Libiamo Restaurant, 221 W. Galena St., Milwaukee.

Morris will talk about how to apply for a Mary L. Nohl grant and the art displayed at the Lynden garden in Brown Deer, Wis.

Lynden offers a unique experience of art in nature through its collection of more than 50 monumental sculptures sited across 40 acres of park, lake and woodland. It opened to the public in May 2010.

Philip Krejcarek, a professor of art at Carroll University, is CoPA’s Aug. 9 speaker. He is the author of An Introduction to Digital Imagingand Digital Photography: A Hands-On Introduction.

Philip Krejcarek, a professor of art at Carroll University, is CoPA’s Aug. 9 speaker.

A photographer and sculptor, Phil is chairman of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at the Waukesha university where he established a photography major.  He has been a professor there since 1977.

He is the author of An Introduction to Digital Imagingand Digital Photography: A Hands-On Introduction,both published by Cengage Learning.

CoPA’s Midwest juried photography show is increasingly popular with the gallery-viewing public: during its six-week run, the fourth annual exhibit attracted more than 400 people.
