CoPA's Seventh Annual Members' Exhibition is open through May 12th with regular gallery hours at 262 East Menomonee in the Third Ward, across from Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD).The exhibition spans the gamut of photography: natural and urban landscapes, fantasy, travel, digital manipulation, black and white close-ups, psychological portraits, mixed media, and much more.

CoPA's Seventh Annual Members' Exhibition opened with a reception on Gallery Night at 262 East Menomonee in the Third Ward, just across from Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD). This year, the Members' Show features 113 regional artists. The exhibition will be on display with regular gallery hours from April 20 to May 12, 2012.

The exhibition spans the gamut of photography: natural and urban landscapes, fantasy, travel, digital manipulation, black and white close-ups, psychological portraits, mixed media, and much more. CoPA’s members include well-established professional photographers, college students and amateurs. Some experiment fearlessly; others are consummate craftsmen, committed to traditional processes. All are united by a passion for fine art photography.

Historians of photography don't usually associate Edward Weston with Surrealism, but that post-World War I movement in the arts underlies many of Weston's works, where everyday objects are divorced from their normal environments, and seem to possess double identities and sexual power.

Dr. Bendiner holds a Ph.D from Columbia University and currently teaches in the Department of Art History at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. His full Curriculum Vitae can be found here:

CoPA Member Suzanne Garr is currently showing work in two area photography exhibitions. She is the solo photographer in the Juried Exhibition for this quarter at the Delafield Arts Center and will be involved with the Art Walk on May 18 & 19. Garr also has work at the Art & Soul Gallery in Milwaukee that will be a part of the upcoming MARN Treasure Hunt event on Saturday, May 12.

On Tuesday, April 10, the Members' (Traveling) Schmooze will be hosted by long time CoPA Sponsor Prime Digital Media at 16860 W. Victor Road in New Berlin.  Refreshments will at 6:30 p.m.; Announcements and Presentation at 6:45 p.m. This will be a NO fee meeting.

The “Viewer’s Choice” winner at CoPA's 5th annual Midwest Juried Photo Exhibition is Hillary Quella with her piece entitled Communication Continuum. Congratulations Hillary!

The 2011 annual exhibition took place at the Walkers Point Center for the Arts and was juried by Chicago gallery owner, Catherine Edelman.  The show consisted of 43 photographic pieces by 30 different photographers from all over the Midwest.

The first Gallery Night and Day of 2012 arrives in Milwaukee on Friday, January 20 and Saturday, January 21. Photographs by CoPA members will be on view all over town, including work by Cindy Lesky, Linda Schwam Merkel, Bill Zuback and Jessica Zalewski Schafer.
