I am a native Milwaukeean and live in Wauwatosa.
For many years photography has been for me a vehicle for exploration, absorption and communication of and about many subjects that I have encountered, particularly with nature and through travel through various parts of the U.S. and Western Europe. I have always enjoyed the work of accomplished photographers and unique perspectives that they present. In my work I have sought to convey the emotional connection that I experienced in a special place or with a particular subject, determined to capture its uniqueness.
In recent months my image making has taken a new direction into the pursuit of fine art photography. I was delighted to have been selected for the Wisconsin Photography 2012 exhibition at the Charles A. Wustum Museum of Fine Arts in Racine, WI. My work also was shown in the New Photo Expression 2012 exhibition at the Blutstein-Brondino Fine Art Gallery in Milwaukee's historic Third Ward.
Photography is a creative process of discovery and a personal exploration of the world around us. As a photographer I strive to convey in an image some universal quality or transcendent feeling that I experienced with a subject. When this is achieved it can be quite pleasing to any artist, but more importantly it is gratifying when it resonates with others.
